Mezcal connoisseurs - and it's fun. Arrived on a slow Tuesday evening and was given a table and a flight of three mezcals. All excellent, all different - and none I'd ever tried before. Tacos were likewise excellent, had the chicken and rabbit + mahi mahi. Not too big, but two made for a nice dinner. Folks are friendly and super knowledgeable about their marquee drink. Lots of fun to chat with them and talk about their offerings. Highly recommend and will be back.

Loved this place. We were lucky to snag a table so highly recommend making reservations. The drinks were so strong and tasted so good! But the food was spectacular. My husband got the tacos, and three filled him up. I got the short rib and it was so soft and melt in your mouth. My favorite part was the service. When our food was served they told us a little about where everything came from and that was lovely and enough to get us more hungry!

I had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner at Tahona while visiting San Diego from Portland. My foodie friend treated me to a night of delicious food and drinks, and we had a blast exploring the menu. The Guavasita cocktail was a fantastic start. It was smoky and tangy with a perfect balance of grapefruit and guava flavors. I'm a sucker for anything with guava, and this drink definitely hit the spot. For our appetizers, we shared the Soft Shell Crab and Corn Salad and the Ahi Tostada. Both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. My friend was not a fan of the green goo in the soft shell crab. Unfortunately I didn't get that bite because I wouldn't have minded. We also tried the Carnitas Bao Buns and the Chicken & Rabbit Al Pastor Tacos. The bao buns were okay, but I prefer mine with a more traditional Asian-style filling. The al pastor tacos were really good, but I didn't notice a significant difference in flavor between the chicken and the rabbit. While the food was enjoyable, the real highlight of the evening was the fabulous speakeasy at Tahona Bar that we had a chance to attend. We had a fantastic time exploring the hidden gem and enjoying the unique atmosphere.

100% love the food and the staff was also superb. But.... $9 for smal street taco is. Horrendous. You will go away hungry unkesss you want to spend a kings fortune. So.. would have e been five stars but the value is just not here for the ambience and portion size.
